All eyes on Secretary Chu

On a recent visit to Washington, D.C., graduate and professional students of the McDonnell International Scholars Academy had the opportunity to hear from and meet with U.S. Secretary of Energy Steven Chu, who recently announced he would be stepping down from the post he has held since 2009. While in the nation’s capital, the scholars interacted with a wide variety of elected officials, policy makers and influencers, including Missouri’s U.S. senators, Claire McCaskill and Roy Blunt; U.S. Rep. Ann Wagner, of Missouri; Strobe Talbott, president of the Brookings Institution; Stephen Legomsky, chief counsel of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services; Jon Sawyer, of the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting; and G. Wayne Clough, secretary of the Smithsonian Institution. For more information on the McDonnell Academy, visit http://mcdonnell.wustl.edu/about/. (Credit: Joe Angeles)
