John Alberici, chairman of Alberici, a St. Louis-based construction company with clients worldwide, participates in a news conference Oct. 8 at the site of Washington University’s new Brown School expansion to commemorate the Associated General Contractors annual Build St. Louis Week (Oct. 6-10). Demon Parker (far left), Alberici’s project manager on the Brown School expansion, and Henry S. Webber, executive vice chancellor for administration at Washington University, look on. The week celebrates the construction industry and recognizes local construction’s accomplishments and impact on St. Louis’ economic well-being. In his remarks, Alberici said there was no place more appropriate to hold the news conference than at Washington University, where, under the “visionary leadership” of Webber, the “building team is creating and maintaining a truly world-class campus. The Brown School is but one example of the many new projects emphasizing quality, sustainability and energy conservation,” said Alberici, whose firm is construction manager for the 105,000-square-foot expansion. Scheduled for completion by summer 2015, the new building will connect to the existing Brown and Goldfarb halls.
