Wiland named director of Institutional Research and Analysis

Wiland

Lisa Wiland has been appointed director of Institutional Research and Analysis for the Office of the Provost at Washington University in St. Louis. She has served as associate director of the institutional research office since its formation in January 2013 under the auspices of the provost.

Wiland works to provide data and analysis to promote informed decision-making, planning and policy for university leadership and administration. She transforms complex data into clear and meaningful information to help the chancellor, provost, deans and university administrators make decisions.

Wiland also represents Washington University in institutional research collaborations with other universities, such as the Consortium on Financing Higher Education, the Association of American Universities Data Exchange, and ad hoc collaborations with local colleges and universities.

Recent projects include faculty gender pay equity analysis; reports of trends in gender and ethnicity for students and faculty; faculty salary comparisons to peer institutions by discipline; review of university reporting to external rankings surveys; and directing the design, administration and analysis of a variety of campus-wide surveys.
