Pamela Lokken, vice chancellor for government and community relations at Washington University in St. Louis, will retire from the university this fall after more than 30 years of service. 

Mark P. Taylor, dean of Olin Business School, will conclude his deanship June 30. He will continue to serve as the Donald Danforth Jr. Distinguished Professor of Finance after taking a year of academic leave.

Kurt T. Dirks, vice chancellor for international affairs and director of the McDonnell International Scholars Academy at Washington University in St. Louis, has been appointed director of the George and Carol Bauer Leadership Center and senior adviser to the chancellor for leadership, effective July 1.

Jessie Minton, vice provost and chief information officer at the University of Oregon, has been appointed vice chancellor for technology and chief information officer at Washington University in St. Louis, effective April 15, according to Shantay Bolton, executive vice chancellor and chief administrative officer.

Mark Glenn, chief of the Washington University Police Department (WUPD), will retire from the university and leave his position on Nov. 8, according to Shantay Bolton, executive vice chancellor for administration and chief administrative officer.

Washington University in St. Louis will make an unprecedented $1 billion investment in financial aid for students, according to Chancellor Andrew D. Martin. This funding will allow the university to achieve its goal of adopting a need-blind undergraduate admissions policy, effective immediately.

The Washington University Investment Management Company generated an unprecedented 65% return on its Managed Endowment Pool during the 2020-21 fiscal year, giving the university a significant financial gain that it will use to bolster its support of students and strategic academic initiatives.

Dedric Carter, vice chancellor for operations and technology transfer, has been appointed as Washington University in St. Louis’ first vice chancellor for innovation and chief commercialization officer (CCO).
