Joshua York, senior in electrical engineering, won the first-place award for best overall presentation at the St. Louis Area Undergraduate Research Symposium April 4. York presented his research on acoustic source localization using an array of microphones and generalized cross-correlation signal processing algorithms. His research was conducted as an Undergraduate Research Project under the supervision and guidance of Arye Nehorai, Ph.D., the Eugene and Martha Lohman Professor and chair of the Department of Electrical and Systems Engineering, Patricio La Rosa, graduate research assistant, and Ed Richter, research associate in electrical engineering.
