Spring Preview: Future undergrads to visit Danforth Campus

Prospective undergraduate students can experience life on the Danforth Campus firsthand throughout March and April as Washington University hosts Spring Preview for the Class of 2014.

During Spring Preview, formerly known as April Welcome, admitted students can take a tour of campus, and undergraduate schools also offer special programs and tours of their facilities.

Spring Preview also gives prospective students an opportunity to sit in on classes, talk with faculty, and attend meetings and social activities sponsored by numerous student organizations.

“This visit is extremely important to students as they decide their future for the next four years,” says Julie Shimabukuro, director of admissions. “I remember my visit to Washington University when I was in high school, and it made all the difference. It helped me understand all the wonderful academic opportunities and resources available to me, but more importantly, it was a place that felt like home.”

The Washington University community is key to ensuring that visiting families have a great experience.

“Every contact that a student makes during the visit is meaningful,” Shimabukuro says. “Faculty, students and staff can make a difference by greeting and welcoming our visitors and making them feel at home.”

Prospective students can also explore St. Louis and sample the area’s entertainment and cultural attractions.
