Beddo earns honors

Men’s soccer senior back Harry Beddo was tabbed as a D3soccer.com 2010 NCAA Division III third-team All-American in the website’s inaugural postseason award announcement Jan. 7.

As one of the primary backfield defenders in 2010, Beddo helped anchor a defensive unit that ranked sixth in Division III with a 0.42 goals against average and 16th with a 0.6 shutout percentage, recording 12 shutouts in 20 games while yielding just nine goals against.

Beddo was a four-time All-University Athletic Association (UAA) selection, earning first-team all-conference accolades in 2009 and 2010. He was a second-team NSCAA all-central region selection a year ago, but earned first-team honors for the first time in his career in 2010. He ended his stellar four-year career with 17 goals and seven assists for 41 points.

The men’s soccer team finished the season with one of the best overall records in school history, posting a 14-1-5 mark before advancing to the second round of the 2010 NCAA Division III tournament.
