Danforth Campus welcomes recruiters

Feb. 1 job fair connects students with employers

Washington University in St. Louis will host local and national organizations on Wednesday, Feb. 1, for the Spring Internship & Career Fair.

The fair will take place from 3-7 p.m. on the second floor of the Danforth University Center on the Danforth Campus.

All WUSTL students and alumni are welcome to participate (a valid ID is required). The fair is a unique opportunity to meet and interview with dozens of potential employers in a short amount of time.

Employers include Capital One, Epic, Express Scripts, Green Corps, Huge, L’Oreal, Maximus, Microsoft, MIT Lincoln Laboratory, Nickelodeon/Viacom Media Networks, Target, Teach For America and Youth Villages, among others.

“The career fair is a great opportunity for all of our students to connect with a diverse array of employers, from corporations to nonprofits, for internships and full-time positions,” says Mark Smith, JD, assistant vice chancellor and director of the Career Center.

Professional attire is strongly encouraged. For men, this would mean a suit, dress shirt, tie and lace-up dress shoes. Women have a few more options: a pant or skirt suit with a blouse, flats or a low heel and minimal jewelry. For both men and women, colors should typically be neutrals such as black, navy, gray or tan.

Prepping activities

This week, students can get ready for the fair by taking advantage of a number of activities. Many of the organizations are hosting information sessions for students. Two “Prepping for the Career Fair” workshops will be offered on Monday, Jan. 30, and Tuesday, Jan. 31.

Students also can sign up for mock interviews with alumni by calling the Career Center at (314) 935-5930. These interviews will be held Friday, Jan. 27. Students are encouraged to research positions and sign up for events on the Career Center’s website at careercenter.wustl.edu.
