Mr. Wash U will be crowned at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 5, during the annual talent show in Edison Theatre. Tickets are available at the Edison Theatre box office.
Started in 2001, Mr. Wash U recognizes an undergraduate student with outstanding personality, character, integrity, extracurricular involvement and contribution to the university and St. Louis communities.
The student-led group Mr. Wash U selects candidates to compete for the crown and title. This year, 13 candidates are competing.
As part of the contest, candidates participate in the talent show and raise funds for City Faces, an after-school art and tutoring program for children in St. Louis’ Clinton-Peabody public housing projects. Last year’s cumulative efforts raised more than $30,000; this year’s goal is $32,000.
The show features choreographed group dances and individual acts. Tickets are $12 for general admission and $22 for V.I.P.
