Who Knew WashU? 12.9.20

Question: As the COVID-19 pandemic has shifted many students and employees to remote learning and working this year, our use of technology has adapted as well. Throughout 2020, about how many Zoom meetings have taken place among the Danforth and Medical campus community?

Students from Professor Peter Kastor’s class connect via Zoom.

Answer: D) According to WashU IT, the campus community has completed more than 1 million Zoom meetings (and counting) in 2020. For perspective, in January, before the pandemic took hold, WashU members held 1,400 Zoom meetings. In November, the total exceeded 150,000.

Congrats to this week’s winner, Heidi Walsh, who works at the School of Medicine and will receive an “I Knew WashU” luggage tag!
