Take Steps for Kids 5K set for March 24

The 4th annual Take Steps for Kids 5K and 1 Mile will take place Saturday, March 24, on the Danforth Campus. Presented by the Washington University Club Running team, the event raises proceeds for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Missouri youth mentoring organization.

Members of the university and St. Louis communities are invited to walk, jog or run through the historic Danforth Campus. The family-friendly event features break dancers, jugglers, a balloon man and more. WUSTL’s own Mosaic Whispers a cappella group will kick off the races.

Festivities begin at 4 p.m. with race-day registration, check-in and entertainment in Brookings Quadrangle. The rain location is Cupples I Hall.

The 1 Mile and 5K start at 5 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., respectively. The 5K and 1 Mile will be professionally chip-timed by Big River Running Company. The races will end with a kids’ 150-yard dash.
