Fall career fair brings diverse employers to campus

The Danforth Campus at Washington University in St. Louis will host more than 100 local and national organizations on Wednesday, Sept. 19, for the Fall Internship & Job Career Fair. The event is sponsored by the university’s Career Center.

The fair will take place from 3 to 7 p.m. in the Recreational Gym of the Athletic Complex.

“The Career Fair is a great opportunity for all of our students to connect with a diverse array of employers, from corporations to nonprofits, for internships and full-time positions,” said Mark Smith, JD, assistant vice chancellor and director of the Career Center.

Employers include Amnesty International USA, Analysis Group, Capital One, Deloitte, Epic, FBI, Garmin International, Green Corps, MIT Lincoln Laboratory, Monsanto, Nielsen, Target, Teach for America, TJX Companies, among others.

The week before the fair, many organizations will host information sessions allowing students to find out more about their organizations. With the career fair early in the school year, special resume review days have been scheduled.

Students can sign up for a time to have their resume reviewed by a recruiter before the career fair. Students are encouraged to research positions and sign up for events by logging into CAREERlink, the Career Center’s interactive database of jobs and internships.

Additional help is available during Quick Question drop-in hours and Quick Advising Hours.

The fair will provide WUSTL students a unique opportunity to meet and interview with dozens of potential employers in a short amount of time. All WUSTL students and alumni are invited to attend. Professional attire (a suit) is strongly recommended.

Career fairs are open to WUSTL students and alumni with a valid ID. For more information and to view an updated list of registered organizations, visit careercenter.wustl.edu or call (314) 935-5930.
