Fair Saint Louis reminder​

​Parking lots, some campus operations will be disrupted

A nu​mber of operations at Washington University in St. Louis will experience disruptions as the 34th annual Fair Saint Louis takes place Thursday through Saturday, July 3-5, in Forest Park. The event has been relocated from its usual site this year due to ongoing construction in the area around the Gateway Arch.
Faculty, staff and students should plan ahead and be aware of changes in the following areas:
Parking — The university is providing access to several campus parking areas during the fair, beginning at 4 p.m. Thursday. Vehicles that are parked in affected lots prior to this time will be allowed to remain, but they will not be permitted to re-enter without paying applicable fair parking fees. Parking will be reserved for university employees in the Danforth University Center (DUC) parking garage and several other sites. A complete list of locations is available here​.
Building closures — The following facilities will be operating outside of normal hours during the fair:
  • Bookstore – Closed Friday through Sunday
  • DUC – Closed Friday through Sunday
  • Knight Center – Closed Friday through Sunday
  • Kemper Museum – Closed from 3 p.m. Thursday, reopening at 11 a.m. Sunday
  • Olin Library – Closed from 5 p.m. Thursday through 10 a.m. Sunday
  • Subway – Closed Friday and Saturday

Food service will be available at the Bear’s Den in the South 40 House Friday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

All university buildings will be locked for the holiday weekend beginning Thursday at 5 p.m. Most buildings will be accessible to members of the WUSTL community by swiping valid University ID cards at the entrances.
Metro Transit Service — MetroLink will provide additional service Thursday through Saturday to accommodate fairgoers. However, a number of bus lines will experience changes, including the #1 Gold, #3 Forest Park Trolley, #13 Union, #90 Hampton, and Green Line. Visit the MetroLink website for details.

Traffic — Employees should expect heavy traffic and police checkpoints and to take alternate routes.

Danforth Campus —​ Employees should approach campus via Big Bend and Forsyth boulevards.​

Medical Campus​ — While Kingshighway Boulevard is expected to remain open, employees traveling to work westbound via 1-64/40 may wish to take the Forest Park Avenue exit. Employees traveling to work eastbound via I-64/40 may wish to take the Grand Avenue exit.

Transportation — The Campus Circulator shuttle service will be unavailable beginning Thursday at 4 p.m., with service resuming on Sunday. The Campus2Home shuttle service also will be canceled Thursday through Saturday.​
