Basketball Staff and Family Day benefits Winter Outreach

Faculty, staff and other members of the university community are invited to help St. Louis-area homeless while cheering on the men’s and women’s basketball teams as they square off against Brandeis University on Sunday, Jan. 20. The men’s game begins at noon and the women tip off at 2 p.m.

This special event in the Athletic Complex features fun activities for the whole family and refreshment specials. Admission is free, but those attending are asked to RSVP at https://getinvolved.wustl.edu/Basketball-RSVP.

Members of the St. Louis Winter Outreach Team will be at the game collecting items for the homeless for distribution when temperatures drop below 25 degrees. Items needed include: gently used blankets and sleeping bags, heavy socks, scarfs, hats, gloves, granola bars, individually packaged snack crackers or nuts, 1-pound cans of coffee, hot cocoa and tea bags.

Donations also may be dropped off at the Community Service Office, Danforth University Center, Room 150.
