Kurtzman, Oros honored for efforts to combat hunger

Annual food drive begins April 2

Stephanie Kurtzman

Stephanie Kurtzman, director of the Community Service Office and associate director of the Gephardt Institute for Public Service at Washington University in St. Louis, and LuAnn Oros, community consultant on hunger and homelessness in the Community Service Office, recently were recognized by Operation Food Search as important food drive partners.

Washington University holds an annual food drive, PB&Joy, to raise food and monetary donations for Operation Food Search. This year’s drive begins April 2.

Luann Oros

Kurtzman and Oros were invited as special guests to the organization’s annual dinner in January to thank them for championing the cause of fighting hunger, including their work on PB&Joy.

Last year, the drive collected a record 16,908 pounds of nutritious, kid-friendly food for Operation Food Search along with $10,745.
